Gardening Tip of the Week

It’s Gwynne Curry here from ContainerGardenOnline.com. Hope you’re having a great week!

Today I have a little tip that can make your daily gardening chores a lot easier on your back.

You may be surprised to find out how much effort and strain can be reduced when you purchase top quality gardening tools and take really good care of them.

Here are my recommendations:

1. Purchase top quality tools.

2. File the edges of your hoes and shovels at least once each season.

3. Dip your shovel in a bucket of oily sand a few times and hang it until the next use.

This last tip may sound like a lot of work, but it’s all of thirty seconds that pays off big time in the long run once you have your bucket of oily sand prepared and in place. Keeping your tools sharp means less strain overall for you.

It’s like the difference in cutting a tomato with a super sharp knife compared to a dull one. A lot less hassle!
