If the covers allow the pieces to get wet and dusty then you will not be saving yourself any time or work and the furniture will deteriorate with the elements.

If you get into the habit of wiping down the furniture before you cover it, you won’t have to spend time cleaning it before company arrives. This allows you more time to prepare for entertaining your guests.
