Gardening Tip of the Week 5
It’s Gwynne Curry here from ContainerGardenOnline.com with your gardening tip of the week.
Keeping the critters out of your garden spells the difference between a great harvest or no harvest!
Ugh! There’s nothing like waking up and finding your garden has been ravaged by nocturnal pests! Cats can be a pain–but if you plant rue, they’ll stay away from that particular area.
Rabbits are another problem. They can easily be deterred from your veggies by sprinkling blood meal and/or hair clippings (not from dyed hair) around your plants. You can buy fox urine and put it in your garden to scare the bunnies off, too.
AS far as the flying pests go, the best solution I’ve found is to mix some Tabasco with water and spray the solution on your plants. After it rains, you’ll need to respray them.
GARDENING QUOTE OF THE WEEK
Weather means more when you have a garden. There’s nothing like listening to a shower and thinking how it is soaking in around your green beans. ~Marcelene Cox
